Terry & Julie Clemens
Terry Clemens graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service at Jeffersonville, Indiana in 1985. He is a part of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. Terry has been associated with funeral home service since 1983, when he began working for his father-in-law, George Deaton.
Terry and Julie became owners of the funeral home in January of 1991, after purchasing it from Julie’s parents, George and Jean Deaton. The funeral home has been in the family since 1965, when it was purchased from Mr. Everett Beigh by the Deaton family.
Terry, as the funeral director, assists families with their funeral services. He served on the Bourbon Police department for sixteen years as the first D.A.R.E officer in Marshall Co. and is formerly a Deputy Coroner for Marshall Co. as well. Julie works in partnership with Terry, assisting him with daily operations, also acting as the funeral home’s office and financial manager.
In August of 2015 they chose to expanded their service to families by purchasing Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, IN
Terry married Julie Deaton in 1980, and they have three daughters: Bethany Clemens of North Hollywood, CA, Alissa Clemens Wyrick (Michael) of Bourbon, IN, and Melanie Clemens Walker (Joshua) of Huntington, IN.
Julie and Terry are actively involved at Bourbon First United Methodist Church, Bourbon, IN. Terry is also a member of the Plymouth Kiwanis Club. Their family spent many years involved in Marshall Co. 4-H and still support the families involved in this program. In their free time they enjoy being with family. Terry enjoys singing in church choir, golfing, and car restoration. Julie enjoys collecting teddy bears, reading, and horses. Together they have spent several years traveling to Disney World with their family.
